Approximately 8% of children in the US have disabilities, and these children are more likely to be abused or neglected than their non-disabled peers. The authors highlight the importance of researchers in the child maltreatment field to include children's disability status in their studies of abuse and neglect.  They provide a brief overview of what research has found so far and include possible questions for researchers to include.
