Briefing paper detailing a research study looking at school business mentoring schemes. The study was commissioned by the Bank of England, which was already involved in a mentoring scheme with children from the Bangladeshi community in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. The objectives of the study were to: identify the structures and procedures needed for setting up and sustaining a school business mentoring scheme that is aimed at black and minority ethnic pupils; assess the impact of mentoring schemes on schools, businesses, mentors and mentees; and make recommendations to strengthen the practice of school business mentoring schemes.
