Increasingly disabled people have argued that their organisations should not only be consulted about services but also they should have some control over how services are provided. Blind Asian people feel that their needs are not being served very well by either health and social services or white disability organisations. In response to this the Association of Blind Asians in Leeds has been set up to create a mutual support system and provide services to meet their specific needs.
