Report of an action research project aiming to : conduct evaluations of twelve children's services in order to assess the quality of care in two areas of service provision which offer support to families, but for whom a disabled child is the main user; to examine how far and in what ways the interpretation of the guidance and regulations accompanying the Children Act 1989 were having a positive impact on service delivery; to enable services to conduct their own evaluations using the scale and procedures employed in the study; and to feed back the results of the evaluation to the subject authorities in written form with the aim of promoting service development in line with the principles of the Children Act 1989.
