Shaping Our Lives has started developing a national network of user-controlled organisations. SOL has played a key role in facilitating user involvement on national issues around social care since it was established in 1996. With the Government's drive to improve standards and quality in social care and users being central to this work, the demands of this area of work are increasing. This report details four organisations of service users, two run by black mental health service users, one run by black disabled people, and the last run by older people.
