This article reports on a study conducted at the rehabilitation unit of a children's hospital in the United States to explore the perspectives of children with disabilities and their guardians on quality-of-life issues. Both quantitative and qualitative methods were employed to elicit this information. The results revealed that socialisation is the most important quality-of-life issue for children with disabilities. The study also indicated a need for social workers to create a support system for the guardians of those children with disabilities receiving rehabilitation therapies.
