This report sets out the findings from an engagement exercise with nursing home residents (and their carers where appropriate), designed to ascertain their views on their care and the home, and their positive and negative experiences in the setting. Findings and emerging themes from the engagement are intended to inform the review of the minimum standards in care homes. The draft revised standards set out the requirements for registration and inspection of nursing homes providers by the Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority to ensure a consistency of approach throughout Northern Ireland and ensure that residents and their families and carers, service providers and commissioners have a clear understanding of the minimum standards of care they can expect to receive and provide.
