Examines how longer life expectancy is opening up new possibilities for individuals, communities and the voluntary sector. To capitalise on the age of opportunity, the report argues that the whole sector - from heritage organisations to health campaigners and from children’s charities to conservationists - has to act to: end of age barriers, by removing age-based limits around people and ensuring that decisions about care and clinical interventions are made on the basis equal access rather than age; adapt to capitalise on the talents of the whole population, competing for the skills of every generation, attracting and retaining talent in paid and unpaid roles and leading the way in managing ageing in the workplace; and catching the ageing windfall, setting out a compelling case for donations from older people and building long-term relationships with supporters.
