Key areas covered in this market research report: structure and size of both the independent and voluntary sectors; analysis of supply and demand in the care sector against a backdrop of an ageing population; sources of funding and investment in the independent and voluntary care sectors; development pipeline - key building programmes and major players. Total long-term care sector revenue has increased by around 4-5% between 2010 and 2013, with a significant decline in public sector care home revenues. However, whilst public sector care home revenues have been declining, private care homes have fared considerably better, with revenues forecast to increase by around 7% in 2013 over the previous year. It is estimated that the private long-term care sector will continue to experience steady growth over the next few years, increasing on average by around 6% per annum to reach a value of around £15.6bn by 2017, which will help underpin major development programmes.
