The prevalence of mental health and behavioural problems in looked after and accommodated children is a matter of growing concern. This article reports on Edinburgh Connect, a multidisciplinary team which aims to build the capacity of staff to work therapeutically with children in residential care in the city. The article is based on and evaluation of the project after three years of its operation. The evaluation was carried out by the Scottish Development Centre using focus groups of care workers, children and young people and stakeholders involved in the teams development.
