People who have learning disabilities talk frankly about their lives in these 'video diaries' commissioned by Wiltshire County Council. The group talk openly about their experiences of moving out of a large residential home to a new home, and living in and buying their own homes. They also talk about getting involved in and being part of their communities, what it's like to have a paid job, and how they used direct payments to employ their own support staff. The project aims to give county council service users, family carers and staff information about positive developments for people with learning disabilities in Wiltshire. County council staff will be able to use the video as a training tool, and service users will be able to use it to help them make informed choices about the options in their lives. The people who appear in the video have learned a range of new skills. They formed an editorial team and have been closely involved in the planning, production and editing of the video.
