This DVD contains three short films, entitled 'Why activity is important'; Living a meaningful life; and 'Starting the transformation' which provide an insight into providing good quality care in care homes for older people. The films draw on interviews with older people, staff, relatives and volunteers to show how life in a care home can include real relationships and a sense of community. Formal supervision sessions are required at least six times a year for each member of staff (National Minimum Care Standard 36.2).
