Government moves to targeted approach for adoption register

Reports on requests by government that Local authorities only refer selected children the national adoption register, in an attempt to boost the number of successful matches. The British Agency for Adoption and Fostering (BAAF) are the preferred bidder to continue the register under a three year contract. BAAF believe the register should operate as one of several sources available to staff in adoption services and should focus on hard-to-place children.
