Also identifies a need for the wide variety of development initiatives which exist to be more effectively targeted, more systematically evaluated, and brought to the attention of a much wider audience.

The impact of physical disorder has traditionally been measured in terms of mortality, but this approach is not appropriate for chronic disorders, where the impact is more on quality of life than on longevity.
