A five year analysis of police records from the Metropolitan Police's Project Indigo found key risk factors behind unexpected infant deaths. These include parents with criminal convictions, and within such households, histories of substance misuse, deprivation and theft, led to higher risk of death. The article briefly discusses the recent case of Mohamad Abdulaziz Rashid Saeed-Alim, a young man with Asperger's syndrome and learning disabilities, who had been converted to Islam by extremists and then been persuaded to attempt mass murder.
