The organisation provides supported accommodation for people with mental illness, learning disabilities and substance misuse problems in Slough, Reading and Maidenhead. It has also developed vital crisis units and an innovative Move On programme which operates a structured, three-tiered approach to support that eventually leads to clients living independently.

A UN study of violence against children looked at the experience of more than 175 children, aged 10-17 around the world. The study examined violence towards children in different settings, adopting the definition of violence as outlined in Article 19 of the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child, which includes physical, emotional and sexual abuse and exploitation. This article assesses the findings of the research.

The Integrated Children's System has been introduced so that decisions and actions are digitally managed according to national standards. This article reports on the IT challenges faced by social workers in child protection. It draws on findings from a study which examined how people and technology interact. The study draws on a systems perspective, where errors in human systems have less to do with the perverse actions of individuals and more to do with "latent conditions" for error that arise from general systemic weakness.

Churches in the boroughs of Lambeth and Southwark in south east London are getting ready to provide accommodation for homeless people over the Christmas period. For the duration of the project, entitled Robes, each church takes it in turns to provided an evening meal, accommodation and support for 13 homeless people.
