In the first part of a new series on family policy in Europe, looks at a progressive scheme in the Netherlands. The scheme, Confetti which is supported by Fiom in Eindhoven - a 70-year-old government-funded social care organisation for parenthood aims to help teachers in schools support six to twelve year olds living in 'different family situations'. What Confetti have produced is a child-friendly box containing a variety of learning aids which will be sold to teachers for use with children in groups of four.
