Report of a research project. Part 1 considers prostitution through the eyes of the young people involved and those working in the field, asking what is meant by prostitution, how the young people became involved, and identifying the main risks to which prostitution exposes young people. Part 2 reviews the application of the criminal law to child prostitution and the present ranges of welfare responses. The views and experiences of young people regarding existing services are presented, alongside those of people working in the field. The final part of the report presents a range of proposals for a more effective response to prostitution among young people, based on an understanding that relates to the young peoples' own experiences, is multidisciplinary in nature.
