The programme also included a survey to see if day centre users eat the five portions of fruit and vegetables recommended by the Department of Health. Explores how micro-environments (immediate surrounding) and macro-environments (larger geographical patterns) might influence mental health. Mental hospitals and their grounds are discussed as an example of an environment that can be disorientating. Different environmental patterns are likely to influence both the number and quality of relationships people can make with possible 'psycho-toxic' effects. Natural and built settings can considerably enhance or degrade the quality of everyday life and are likely to have an effect on mood. Offers a redesign of neighbourhoods and communities which look holistically at the needs of people with mental health problems and are an empowerment of local communities.
