It has been widely accepted by the medical profession that inter-professional collaboration is necessary in the identification and management of elder abuse. As part of a research project into GP's knowledge and experience of elder abuse, this project asked GPs about their contact with other professionals and agencies in response to some specifically defined situations in which it would be reasonable to suspect elder abuse.
