Updated guidance for health and care professionals who are not registered with the Health and Care Professions Council, and are returning to practice after a break of more than two years. The guidance will also be useful for professionals who are registered but have not been practising, people considering a break in practice, and those who are supervising or employing someone returning to practice. It includes a flow chart of the returning to practice process to help determine whether returning to practice requirements apply, clarifies what is meant by 'practising your profession’, and outlines the difference between the supervisor and counter-signatory roles. The guidance applies to the 16 professions regulated by the Health and Care Professions Council, including social workers in England. (Edited publisher abstract)
