Government consultation seeking views on the Knowledge and Skills Statements for practice supervisors supervising front line social workers in adult social care, part of government policy to improve social work education, training and career development. The document includes an overview of the role and attributes of a practice supervisor; the nine knowledge and skills statements; and proposals for a national assessment and accreditation system for practice supervisors. It also includes a glossary of terms and an appendix on the importance of critical reflection within a social work practice framework. The consultation questions cover whether the right knowledge and skills have been identified; the relationship with other Knowledge and Skills Statements and the Professional Capabilities Framework; and whether the proposed national requirements for assessment and accreditation of supervisors are appropriately designed.
