This document provides guidance for registrants of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) on using social media in a way which meets HCPC standards. Registrants to the HCPC include social workers in England. The guidance provides tips for using social media and information about how to put these into practice. Areas covered include: the benefits of social media, communicating appropriately, being honest and trustworthy, respecting confidentiality, and maintaining appropriate boundaries.
