Parkinson’s disease symptoms can impair an individual’s ability to communicate, in some cases contributing to social isolation. Effective complementary treatments for Parkinson’s disease are needed, particularly to address the non-motor symptoms, including depression and anxiety. This article examines a therapeutic drumming program offered to patients with Parkinson’s disease at a large teaching hospital in the United States. (Edited publisher abstract)
