FGM good practice guidance and assessment tool for social workers

This online tool has been designed to help social workers in the assessment of cases where FGM is a concern. It takes the social worker through the assessment process, and includes information on how to review the referral, a question guide for reviewing the referral, an online FGM assessment tool and next steps pathways. It is made up of two elements: best practice guidance and an online FGM Assessment Tool. Based on the information entered into the tool, it generates a risk level and relevant alerts regarding Mandatory Reporting. The tool provides recommendations but is not intended to replace professional judgement. (Edited publisher abstract)
