Sets out the steps that all health and care organisations will be expected to take in 2017/18 to demonstrate that they are implementing the 10 data security standards recommended by the National Data Guardian. It also includes details about the new Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSP Toolkit) which will be in place from April 2018 and form part of a new framework for assuring that organisations are meeting their statutory obligations. Part A covers the steps for health and care organisations and Part B covers the steps for General practice. The steps are grouped across areas: people, process and technology.
