Family Futures offers intensive, long-term therapeutic help to children who have experienced trauma living in birth families, foster homes or with adoptive families. The agency uses a multi-disciplinary team which includes social workers; dance, drama and art therapists; psychotherapist; occupational therapists and a paediatric nurse. This article describes the agencies approach and how they are able to turn around the lives of deeply damaged children. The benefits of the service in providing post adoption support is highlighted.
