Updated toolkit to help social care organisations to engage, manage and support volunteers within their organisation. It explores topics such as: making a business case for recruiting volunteers; creating volunteer roles; recruitment; and recruiting adults with experience of care, or living in vulnerable circumstances, as volunteers. It also provides an approach to evaluating the impact of volunteering schemes, which can be used to assess the contribution of volunteering to the people supported, the volunteers, the organisation and the wider community. Impact studies may be used to demonstrate what has changed as a result of the involvement of volunteers and identify next steps. (Edited publisher abstract)
