Social capital, social work and young lives

This article explores the concept of social capital in the contexts of childhood and adolescence by concentrating on issues dealing with children's and adolescents' well-being and on the way in which social capital is seen to promote well-being and prevent mal-being. The authors review articles studying social capital with children or adolescents, the authors aim to form a general view of how social capital is seen in studies of childhood and adolescence. In addition, the authors ask what social work can gain from knowing and acknowledging the contents of social capital in childhood and adolescence.
