Abstract: |
This good practice guidance has been developed to establish a level of consistency across social work degree programmes in Wales in supporting black and minority ethnic students. It also shares information on current good practice initiatives and aims to generate debate and questions in order to empower students, employers and tutors to seek to improve support for black and minority ethnic (BME) students. The main sections of the guide cover: access, admissions and selection; pre-course information, induction, support, tutoring and mentoring; programme partnerships, hosting arrangements and practice learning opportunities; teaching, learning and assessments; and becoming qualified social workers. The voices of student experiences are integrated throughout the Guidance. Section 7 places all 40 best practice recommendations together in a template to encourage programmes to monitor their progress. |
