Abstract:

The new edition of this book has been revised to emphasise the current policy drive towards personalisation and service user participation in care management. A new chapter on safeguarding is included and the text has been updated to reflect current course requirements. Part I introduces the theory, policy and legislation which influences social work contexts. It contains chapters on: critical themes and issues in ageing; the case for social work with older people; the policy and organisational context of social work with older people and safeguarding.
