ISSN paper:

Abstract:

Sailaday OK is a Cornish charity offering marine wilderness therapy to help those recovering from addiction, abuse and other trauma. The article explains how sailing is used as a metaphor for recovery. Two interventions used in the therapy - helming and night sailing- are described. Both look at the task and the parallel therapeutic process.
