Abstract: |
The 21 studies included in this review, mostly set in Europe or the USA, included qualitative and quantitative study designs, and were considered to be of good methodological quality. Stroke patients and their caregivers were found to have a diverse range of educational needs, many of which were unmet. The needs changed according to the recovery stage after stroke, but the definitions of the stages varied widely between studies. The findings are viewed as being useful in the further development of educational interventions for stroke patients and their carers. |
