Abstract: |
The development and implementation of a nurse led initiative to improve approaches towards dementia in general community hospitals is described. The 12 week programme used the 'Caring of people with dementia in acute care settings' from the Dementia Services Development Centre as a basis for training the champions. The dementia champions then acted as mentors, supporters and change agents within their workplaces. |
