Title: |
Consultation on proposals for Care Services in Allerdale. |
|
|
Abstract: |
The Council has looked at key statistics on changes in the population of Allerdale, including the rising number of older people, the rising expectations of service users in the future, government priorities and current gaps in services in Allerdale. It became increasingly apparent that we had to change our services for older people and a plan was then written which details the types of services that will be required in the future. This document sets out the proposals for these changes to services in your area. |

Aims & Objectives: |
Older people's needs are changing and in response, new services are being developed which means many people who previously would have had to leave their home to move to residential care, now have a choice. People can now receive intensive home care services assisted by technology that helps them to remain living an independent life at home. Sheltered housing, now known as extra care has also evolved to include on site 24 hour care teams which also provide an additional option for people who otherwise may have moved to residential care. |
