A CD-ROM training resource to raise awareness and understanding of social care workers of the importance of language awareness in bilingual Wales. The CD-ROM provides background information on the Welsh language, its history and status. It also covers language and power, the experiences of bilingual service users, relevant global research and considers the implications of current legislation and policy. The resource aims to help social care workers understand language needs, respond positively to these needs and reflect on the challenges that exist for individuals and agencies. |
