Title:

Interprofessional social work: effective collaborative approaches

Publisher:

London: Learning Matters, 2012. 160p.

Abstract:

Specific learning and assessment in partnership working and information sharing across professional disciplines and agencies is a requirement for all social work courses. This theory is increasingly moving into practice as social workers need to deal with a wide range of other professions as part of their daily work. The updated second edition of this book aims to prepare social work students for collaboration with a wide variety of professions including youth workers, the police, teachers and educators, the legal profession and health professionals. Importantly it shows them how to do this while retaining their own values and identity. Chapters include: overview of collaborative practice in social work; preparing to work collaboratively; the youth work and connexions context; the health context; the education context; the housing and neighbourhood context; and the justice context.
