Abstract:

This publication presents the full NICE clinical guidelines CG91   on depression in adults with a chronic physical health problem (such as cancer, diabetes, heart diseases and stroke) in print form. The guidelines are based on the best available evidence and brings together the evidence, recommendations and the methods used to develop the guidance. The guidelines include a useful introduction to depression in adults with a chronic physical health problem. They also cover identifying depression; associated service-level interventions (such as stepped care and collaborative care); psychosocial interventions and pharmacological interventions;. and a chapter on service users, carer, and staff experience of care. The final chapter presents a summary of the recommendations. The publication includes an accompanying CD-ROM provides details of included and excluded studies, tables summarising evidence quality, and meta-analytical data.
