Abstract: |
The purpose of this regional guidance is to complement existing good practice and to assist carers, police officers and social workers in dealing with situations where children go missing or where police officers attend residential units. Two distinct areas of guidance are set out in this document, relating to when the Police Service of Northern Ireland attends residential units, including where a child is missing, and when children living within their own families, or who are in the care of a Health and Social Care Trust and placed in a family setting, go missing. The guidance covers preventative measures, police involvement, criminal damage, assaults, sexual exploitation, bail conditions, unauthorised absence and missing children, police action, trust action, and when the child is located. |
