This resource reviews models, frameworks and approaches for interventions with children and families and the evidence available to support their impact and effectiveness. The models cover the full spectrum of support in children's services, from early intervention through to safeguarding and looked after children. Information about, and the evidence for, each model was collected from one of three organisations: The Early Intervention Foundation (EIF); The Californian Evidence-Based Clearing House (CEBC); and Project Oracle. In total, 40 models were included in the final review. For each model information is provided on: the name of the intervention, a description of what it is, effectiveness rating, audience, age range, tier, outcomes and cost/value for money. The models are organised according to the strength of evidence on effectiveness, the age group of children each is designed for, and the 'impact areas' (or target issues). The models are also organised by level of need: no additional needs, low to vulnerable needs, complex needs, and acute needs. Areas covered by the models include: Behavioural issues, Mental Health and emotional wellbeing, Delinquency and crime, Relationships and social skill development, Communication, Education (engagement, attainment and achievement), Service engagement (e.g. use of services), Health Safety, Domestic violence and abuse (as a victim/survivor, witness, or perpetrator), Teen pregnancy and risky sexual behaviour, Improving parenting skills, and Substance misuse.
