Outlines the findings from qualitative thematic analysis of area evidence summaries from fieldwork undertaken in 10 health and wellbeing board areas to support phase two of the thematic review on children and young people’s mental health, carried out by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). The analysis pulls out themes from across the areas visited and provides some examples of both good and less good practice, as well as the views of children and young people and their families. The findings cover the areas of: governance, leadership and strategic oversight; workforce capacity; local mental health systems; access to care and information; and quality of care.
